Think about this, a person doesn't need to be ignorant nor stupid to hate something, everybody has something they hate, good feelings is not all encompassing. Even those you protect with your stupid af words hate their own things, possibly those who pursue them with hate as well. If they used such words in defiance then they'd be hypocritical in their core, making them rather stupid because who can be hypocritical and claim justice?
