I had a pretty good Internet friend who ended up committed and he was able to post after a couple of weeks for like half an hour to an hour a day once he'd proven he was stable enough to handle the responsibility, on a big public computer in the middle of the ward. I called him while he was in, too, so if he was faking it then he did so with multiple fake nurses and some great background noises to boot.
