I love Newtons. They're built differently, and train you to run with toe strike before heel strike.

I don't know what that means. Picturing someone running backwards.

I'm gonna run to a few places after work and check some out.

Toe heel instead of heel toe. Go jog a block and concentrate which part of your foot strikes pavement first.




Great for deadlift and cleans, miserable for running on anything that is harder than sand.

My gym does not allow it or I'd agree.

what size are you?

you can find the nike pegasus 29 really cheap on ebay depending on what size you need. i rotate 2 pairs of these and they have held up really well

I rock an incredible 8.5 ...

Wide feet though. That usually creates a problem and why I buy those skate shoes.

Nike

look for a neutral or stability shoe which is basically your traditional style running shoe. the heavier you are, the more shoe you want. toe shoes/newtons will cause you to run on your toes which is improper running form and will cause shin splints/stress fractures. toe shoes are only good for like stride exercises on grass to keep your feet safe.
