that's cool, my brother has his gas fitters license and he was thinking about going into HVAC too
definitely rare to get good benefits in the trades so working for the gov't def has it's perks with respect to that

is it a graduated license like in canada? im only a fitter three, fitter ones makes the big bucks, if he has fitter one he's already more qualified than i am for the trade. Yes, the benefits are soooo good, only have to work 4 months out of the year + all the fixins (will still need to take side jobs, but it's much cushier than what i was doing)
