It would be economic suicide. They would be needlessly limiting their access to one of the biggest markets in the world. What is better? Every country having their own regulations that any business wanting to enter that country has to adapt to, or a common set of regulations for large interdependent markets? The latter is much more efficient even if you limit some of your own freedom in the process. That's the price you pay to join any group though, it comes with any interaction with another person.

They would also have to renegotiate hundreds of trade agreements with countries outside of the EU, meenwhile every one of those outside countries could get their services and goods from the EU and not have to worry about renegotiated or reworked agreements so there is a disincentive to even do business with UK at all.

The beurocracy of the EU is actually less than most individual departments within the UK. People complaining about bureaucracy can levy much much stronger critiques at their own country than the whole of the EU.

Sounds like someone working for the hullirry clingon foundation.

I dont get how it's even up for debate, having control of ones own country , negotiating for deals that are in it's best interest, controlling it's own borders for immigration, having politicians directly elected, seems like a no brainer. Every argument I hear about staying in just smacks hollow and they pretend those things wouldnt exist without the EU... One layer of bureaucracy is bad enough, but to add all the problems of every other member state seems ludicrous...

Not surprising coming from such a fragmented nation.

If we leave we crash. It's pretty simple. We have a lot of control, even in the EU.

The arguments for leaving are really shortsighted, even though I'm used to American politics. This is comparable to secessionist talk coming out of Texas. Really stupid, and the most obvious and simplest way to implement economic suicide.
