My grandfather told me that he once fired a warning shot toward a group of hunters that he saw shoot a doe with a fawn really early in the season, such that the fawn wasn't likely to live on its own. Apparently they were on the other side of the canyon, and my grandfather shouted out that they were going to leave the doe there or he wouldn't miss the next time. He was truly a fucking asshole, but every now and again he knew how to use being an asshole for good.
