Thats the problem with texts. You don't have any vocal cues for the other person to help them decipher what someone means. I would recommend using an emoji next time like the sticking out face or even an lol so she knows it's a joke. All you can do now is sincerely apologize (even if she overreacted just say you're sorry) and get her a small gift like her favorite candy bar or something. Nothing extravagant because it was a small error on your part for not inserting an emoji or lol in your text.

Oh and all you have to say is "I'm so sorry I scared you this morning. I will be more mindful of what and how I text." That should be the end of any potential fight.
