Some people do it.
My Brother in law got married at the court house and is planning on having a bigger wedding in a year or two once they're more established (they're both college grads and stuff, he was trying to find somewhere to work using his masters until yesterday - got a job)

But yeah not the worst idea in the world for sure ^_^

just have a backyard bbq or something and have some friends over

Depending on your situation as well, so in a way I am not sure I can help but perhaps just really think it over.

Make sure you hit her with the prenup. It's even more expensive when she leaves your ass... she gets the gold mine and you get the shaft.
