Someone wise told me once:
Earning much does not mean you can save a lot
Earning less does not mean you can't save a lot
It's rather how much you spend in relation to your income that makes the difference, since many spend as much as they earn. With a pay rise comes more expenses, new mobile, new camera, new car etc

no people just spend on shit they don't need and go out far too often, often spending $100-1000s in a weekend. Then they complain that things aren't fair and they need more welfare/free money.

i think i spend around $300 per month on just food but my stove is broken so i have a valid excuse! :)

You're fine wraps!
I spend plenty on going out for food, luckily my income allows me to do that because I'm rarely home enough to buy groceries/cook.
My concern is more alcohol/drugs and expensive travel holidays that people use credit cards to fund.

The money is tough these days for certain.

Not really... Living off EUR 3,700 (after taxes) for two people should be piss easy.
We do start every month by sending 1,000 to our long-term savings account, but even then it shouldn't be that hard. Not sure where all my money is going, but I suspect the Lego and the PS4 games have something to do with it.
