We used to do some surveys from huge companies like cnn and we would have to call a certain demography of people so that the result of the question they asked were exactly what they wanted. Instead of asking xxx amount of people and getting a real honest survey, then they get on cnn and be like 80% of people agree to this shit. Literally a scum industry to be in. Everything is so bias.
hahaha, no doubt, a lot of those places are scummy. Incoming is almost always better than outgoing, at least. There are still a fair number of places that still do customer service work over the phone in a call center environment, though of course, not nearly as many as there were like a decade ago or so.
Long term, you should really see if you can get him to move toward IT or related stuff. Fixing computers doesn't take a whole lot of standing up, generally speaking, and there's a shitload of money to be made.
