You'd need spells or arrows to do it early, but forget about him, run to the door beneath him. He'll move at a later point in the game where you can kill him in another way.

meh I manage fine in dark souls 3, but it's annoying as fuck when you first start and aren't used to the changes. You can be in full havels, with 2 greatshields that give massive poise equipped and the wolf ring and literally ANY attack from any enemy in the game will stun you if hit while you are not mid attack.

Dark Souls 3 pvp/invasions have a lot of fagits because of this, people using the darksword and estoc, massive R1 spam stunlocking you into oblivion, due to the fact a hit from anything is a stun. If you want poise and to chain attacks while taking any damage, you need to time your first swing right with a 2H weapon.

He is pretty much endgame next time you see him, I think you get a titanite chunk from him at that point.

Also, if you want to kill him, use the bow you can find at the start of lothric castle. Don't shoot from a distance, the further away, the less damage. You can easily run to the door beneath him from those stairs in that screenshot. You are safe at the doorway, just aim up from there and shoot for much higher damage. Handmaiden in firelink sells arrows.

By time you go to the place he moves to, you can buy regular titanite shards anyway.

managed to kill the dragon, also just took down this guy

i've decided to ditch most of my armor for crap and just go with sword + shield, seems to work
