Calculus is the class where I started enjoying math, and it's probably the most useful math class for everyday scenarios that you take in HS.
I agree with this guy. Calculus is a lot of fun.
As long as you do the reading (carefully) and clearly break down each component part and label everything, and use flash cards for the more annoying shit (trig identities, certain derivatives and integrals), it should be a piece of cake. I can't recall getting anything other than As in any of my calc classes.
OP, I highly recommend reading ahead to integration by parts and chain rule. Find an upperclassman to explain both to you if needed. Youtube is a very good resource too.
The way classes are structured they don't teach you either of these techniques until you're well into the semester, even though the basics of calculus (both integration and derivation) can be explained in about fifteen minutes. Integration by parts and chain rule are probably the only thing you're going to use ever again, irrespective of whatever field you go into. I learned these like eight years ago and still use them on an almost daily basis.
I have used a few other things (newton's method, numerical integration stuff like rk4, etc) but that's pretty easy to relearn if needed and there's just no excuse not to be aware of chain rule and integration by parts right out the gate. A math dictionary is about the most useful thing ever.
