Ontopic, you should be eating your body weight in grams of protein every day if you're trying to put on mass.
protein absorption is only a certain amount per hour however it all gets absorbed so is irrelevant
Also you can go as low as 0.77 g per lb without it negatively affecting gains (source - lightman)
