How do you predict human reflex/state of mind/state of body at the given tennis match?
I assume you cannot bid when the game is going on, so how do you know beforehand?
Just from their previous record?

The plan is to get a formula to determine who will win based on two players' previous matches with each other. Then use statistics from each player's previous week of play to try to determine a winner.

Then how do you determine it through different play styles?
AKA person who goes up to the net as to a person who prefers to stay in the back and so on?
Different play styles are typically counters of others

That's where using statistics of those players' previous matches with each other come into play using some basic linear algebra. For example, using Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, if I calculate that Roger Federer will win if he has a 75% or greater first serve chance, and in the past week he was getting 80% of his first serves, I might bet on him.

Of course, every player has a bad day and sometimes they buckle in the final stages of a tournament, so this is mostly just for fun. I can't see myself betting more than $5 on a match.

/e And also, if two players' last meeting was 5 years ago those statistics aren't relevant enough to use.

It's just for programming practice and trust me, it won't be a very sophisticated program.
