There are approximately 600 ingredients in cigarettes. When burned, they create more than 4,000 chemicals. At least 50 of these chemicals are known to cause cancer, and many are poisonous.

Many of these chemicals are also found in consumer products, but these products have warning labels. While the public is warned about the danger of the poisons in these products, there is no such warning for the toxins in tobacco smoke.

Here are a few of the chemicals in tobacco smoke, and other places they are found:

Acetone – found in nail polish remover

Acetic Acid –  an ingredient in hair dye

Ammonia – a common household cleaner

Arsenic – used in rat poison

Benzene – found in rubber cement

Butane – used in lighter fluid

Cadmium – active component in battery acid

Carbon Monoxide – released in car exhaust fumes

Formaldehyde – embalming fluid

Hexamine – found in barbecue lighter fluid

Lead – used in batteries

Naphthalene – an ingredient in moth balls

Methanol – a main component in rocket fuel

Nicotine – used as insecticide

Tar – material for paving roads

Toluene - used to manufacture paint

I tried the blu e-cig about a 1 1/2 year's ago and it did nothing for me.. Decided to retry quitting 2 months ago and the batteries are dead and wont hold a charge anymore. Seems like they just want you to keep buying overpriced batteries and filters so I do not recommend "Blu" at all. They just keep raising the prices of cig's these days so you have to be rich to keep up with the habit. I just stopped buying them and stopped getting craving's after a week. After like 12 years of smoking its great to be getting my smell/taste back and not feeling all congested; plus I'm saving about $200 a month.

The reason I smoked cigarettes was for the smoke. E-cigs don't fill that void.

So I'll just keep putting fire to the green.

Nice! Congrats I am very glad to hear and very proud of you! I know how hard quitting can be as I tried to quit for years.

Thought I remember reading something that said E-sigs were actually more likely to cause cancer than actual cigarettes...

Possibly. PG is used in anti-freeze. Though it is also used in inhalers.

He's referring to Mary Jane.

I quit cigarettes, only smoke the healthy version. Don't even smoke e-cigs, cause contains nicotine.

2 years next month.

You can get ecigs without nicotine. Also I understood the fire to the green part but not the smoked cigs for the smoke part.

I smoke MJ too. Helps me do better in school by calming my brain so I can focus and it relieves my anxiety. As for ecigs and herb, you can buy a dry herb tanks in all different types, kinds, sizes, etc.
