Just remove minecraft from your computer all together and redowload it from minecraft.net

Are you sure there's not a minecraft filder? I thought there was still one for texture packs, saves, etc. try to find it

12 other people have already told you to do this, so i figured "fuck it, ill try too, maybe his outcome will be different"

why dont you try erasing it off your computer and then redownloading it off minecraft.net?
