What is the point of underwater basket weaving? Psych? History/English? i mean i can go on and on with the useless subject areas
(granted i did do science and english but at least i have my credentials to be a teacher). We had to pick a 2nd subject area and english was the easiest one...phuck math

Like what can you even do when you get out?? I guess you do have your BA or masters but to be honest you wasted 3-4 years of your life and you are no different than the time you got out of HS

I have friends who went to CC..mechanics/HVAC repair/electicians/plumbers and they earn alot more than my other friends who went to good schools in the state and can only get a job a barista. I guess it does help if you know how to advertise yourself and have connections, then a BA in Psych can get you places but most of these people dont have that luxury

History makesa great pre-law component, and having a degree in anything opens up a whole lot of options for administration and civil service style jobs.

Even if that's not the case though, lol at thinking that just being more educated isn't worth it because the whole world is nothing but an economic game.

yeah those degrees are nice for leverage to something else

when i was getting my teaching license at my school we had to "prove " to the committee you were good enough for it e.g GPA/having outside activities etc. It wouldve certainly helped if i had one of those basket-weaving degrees but i got in without it

It's not necessarily about the specific degree as you can make good money in all fields of work.

It's about the individual, how you apply yourself, and how hard you work.

I have a degree in English because academically, I only had an interest in writing. However, since I never properly applied myself, I am simply a receiving supervisor.

Labor jobs with skill and knowledge-based qualifications, often pay well as there are always a demand for them and they are specialty related......such as the jobs you listed that your friends have.
