I don't "produce" music, I make it. As in, I write songs and then use instruments to record them.

nice, that's cool. what instruments do you play? I play the guitar, piano, saxophone & clarinet, and I have experience with drums (band class type stuff) but don't have my own set.

I also produce music though because I enjoy it more than I enjoy playing most of those instruments.

tips for beatmaking

pirate all the loop+one shot packs you can find. pirate good synths. listen to a lot of music and find nice clean samples to lift. get something cheap like an akai mpk mini mk2

never download a "construction kit"
