I am from up north. I am very troubled by these elections.

I've been following this election. I don't think I have ever seen such a sacrilegious attempt at democracy. Both candidates are corrupted and very poor choices. One of the only politicians that discussed serious issues was Bernie Sanders. Hillary Clinton discussed them and proposed vague solutions all the while hating on Trump. While Trump won the nomination by hating on everyone, blaming all problems on ethnic minorities and proposing preposterous solutions, if any. These candidates just threw vague, meaningless, grade-3 level sentences and won. The american people chose vague bigots over those who were discussing serious issues and avoided ad hominems. This sadly speaks volumes of US voters

The republican national convention, something that shouldn't last more than a couple of hours, has been going on for 3 days now. It featured some of the worst, most incoherent, idiotic speakers I have ever seen. 3/4 sentences were about hating on various people (Obama, Hillary, etc) or groups. I Haven't heard any serious geopolitical or social economic issues raised. This event is reminiscent of hate week from Orwell's 1984 and it's not even this event alone. I'm sure democratic convention will also suffer from the same issues.

I have never seen the US so close to neo-facism

I really don't know what sensible Americans should do right now, other than pull their hair out and vote for a 3rd party. Libertarians or green, even though they stand no chance of winning, and voting for them would likely be a vote for Trump or Hillary

these events that you claim to be happening now have been happening for a very long time

obama literally won the election because he was black(jokes, but in all seriousness there were alot of people who voted for him just for that reason)

when either hilary or trump gets elected things will not dramatically change

the reason why it seems like its so shitty is because social media is promoting violence and murder and the entire world, not just america, is being corrupted by it
