Hello dear gcer !

I do not know much about hardware and I came here to seek for help.

I would like to buy a laptop that I could use for professionnal use and I little bit of gaming.

So far is the information I got:

- I use a HP elitebook 8560p at work and really love the casing and the keyboard as they feel very heavy duty.

- I would like to use win 7 if possible because I don't like so much win 10 and am not using it at 100%.

- I would like a very reliable internet wifi card in the computer so it does not disconnect for no reason and is not lowering the connexion speed. (I dont want to always be ethernet connected for reliable connexion)

I would like a graphic card good enought to play at least diablo2, diablo3, battlefield, witcher, etc in medium quality. If possible a non-integrated one that I could swap if needed to.

- I would like a good cpu that can follow the graphic card (no amd) like an i7 or something similar.

My budget would be between 1k-2k CAN$ for either a used laptop or a brand new one. I would prefer a new one tho.

Please let me know in this thread if you have inputs or example of computers I should look at.

You're welcome. Those are professional laptops that can be used for gaming, they're solid and well built and very durable. I wouldn't recommend going the opposite route and getting a gaming laptop to use for work as the build quality and reliability won't match those (the specs may be better for the price but you get lower quality chassis, etc)

So far my favorite one is the Dell precision 5510, but after building it on their website It would cost me 2450$ + txs B)

I took the xenon E3 quad with the dual 8gb ddr (16g)

At least I can look around for a used one of those :p

Ya they're really expensive if you buy from dell directly, if you look on ebay you can get them for a lot cheaper :)
I'm looking for one myself lol
