Situation:
Company hires a black male over a white male because there is not enough diversity within the workforce, even if the white male is more suited for the job.

Is this an example of reverse racism, and is it a real thing?

It's not reverse racism, it's just plain racism.

It's part of the current equality through inequality ideology white guiltists are trying to implement in modern society

Not sure about reverse racism but yes this does happen

there's no such thing as reverse racism, racism is racism weather being racist towards whites blacks reds yellows or whatever color skin they have or wherever they came from, if the treatment is not equal it is racist.

Same goes for gender. Lots of companies hire women over men because they get flak for not hiring enough women. Everybody loses except the unqualified woman.

because i'm going by definition 1 you provided, where it's the belief in the superiority/inferiority of a race or races, and don't agree that it's the same thing as any sort of discrimination

and discriminating by race due to some sort of racial quota does not constitute racism on the part of the company, as it doesn't necessarily mean they think some race is superior or inferior

How do you even justify the white is more suited? You are not even in the HR department. How do you know the newly hired doesn't provide additional value to the team, due to his background, language and culture?

normally education and experience justify more suited.

how do you know that the white guy didn't come from the same background, didn't know the same languages, and wasn't raised in the same culture, except had more education and experience? you just assumed because you're being racist.
