1: What is the Year, Make, and Model of the vehicle.
2003-2011 Ford Crown Victora Police Interceptor (still shopping, but know this is what I want)

2: What is your budget?
Around $500, will spend a bit more if it's a big bang for the buck. Still a "broke" college student.

3: What exactly do you want your outcome to be? (Good sounding music, or loud bass?)
Good sound throughout the whole spectrum.

4: And specific sub sizes that you prefer more than others?
Don't know much about them, do some sound better than others? Anyone that know much about these specific cars know what fits well?

5: How much trunk space do you want to use up?
Vic's have a lot, but I use a lot so preferably not too much. Something that would fit next to the spare tire? I've also seen them mounted in the rear deck between the factory ones, kind of car specific tho.

6: What type of features are you looking for in a CD Player (aka Head Unit)? (Ex: USB, AUX, BlueTooth, etc)
Android capability (I play almost exclusively off my phone, hardly ever use radio/cd).
Prefer USB, Bluetooth a bonus if it doesn't add much to the price.

7: What type of music do you listen to?
Everything, with a strong emphasis on hard rock/heavy metal (won't get genre technical).

8: Is your stock stereo system amplified? (You may or may not know this)
Pretty sure no.

9: Do you have Steering Wheel Controls? (Volume/Seek on the steering wheel)
Since I don't have the car yet, and most don't, lets assume NO.

Other questions:
How much will having a sub actually add to the sound quality of my system?
What would be the difference of having a sub mounted to the rear deck as opposed to a sub box?
What are the advantages of both sealed and ported sub boxes?

** Posted in Car audio forum, but that appears to be completely dead (first page goes back almost a year)

Started doing some of my own looking around at stereos, found a couple I like
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_108635_Kenwood-DPX502BT.html
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_91058_Pioneer-FH-X820BS.html
They seem like the same thing functionality wise, but the Kenwood seems to have a better screen setup, and is $10 less. Is there anything that would make the Pioneer that much better or is it just the name at that point? (I know both brands are pretty good)

/thread is right.

Buy a new car. No one likes those guys who roll around trying to make their car look like an undercover.

If you have $500 extra to spend on car audio, could you maybe spend it on not getting a car that makes you look like a jag? :(

There aren't even any vic in circulation as cop cars anymore (at least where I live) and everyone knows that. I'm going for reliable, easy/inexpensive to work on, spacious.

Ah, okay, this makes you way less of a jag, n/m.

There're still plenty of them here and they're really popular with poor folks as you basically get a six pack of them free with your ticket to government auctions. :P
