I was a manager at a call center for a few years. That was my first thought tbh. I guess the only reason I thought it might be bad is hes not very well spoken and if I was his manager I wouldn't want him working for me. He is so determined that I think he could make it work and I could obviously help him through it. Call centers often give you spelling test and idk if he can pass that either. It's worth a shot though!
Definitely going to be his best bet. There are just so many call centers out there.
Of course, there's no doubt he could get some reasonable accommodation and work drive thru or cashier or something, if he's not ready for call center work. But so many call centers are utter garbage that they'd be happy to grab your buddy on account of how he has a pulse and can speak out loud.
