So i just had a long talk with my cousin who is going to be having his first child in a couple of weeks here, his gf is completely against vaccinations and wants to NEVER vaccinate this child, they think that there is a solid link between vaccinations and autism, im pretty sure that it cannot be proven positive that this is true, i had seen studies myself on this that say there is increased rates of autism then the studies were 'debunked' even so far as from the autism speaks website that did a 100000 person study vaccinated vs non-vaccinated and the autism rates were higher in the non-vaccinated group although the authors seem to think that when parents see the kid leaning towards autism that they will refuse the vaccinations because of weakened immune systems already.

my view is and has been that you should wait until the child is around 2years old and try to keep them out of the public as much as possible until then, its some scary subject matter, i have done this with 3 of my children, kept them out of mass public places until 2years old and then getting them vaccinated because i think their body is more developed and able to handle the bad shit we are going to pump into it to make it immune.

he's talking about never vaccinating and putting the kid in a daycare from nearly day 1 though, i told him that she's crazy and they need to do more research, what do you all think?

It's not just that they can't prove that vaccines cause autism - they've essentially proven they don't.

They are absolute idiots and their baby is going to have a decent chance of serious health problems from some preventable disease, not to mention putting other people's children at risk.

there should be an anti-vaccination registration list like they have for sex offenders so that people in surrounding areas know they're in potential danger

For fucking real.

I can guarantee you that if my kid ever gets hurt because some irresponsible jag exposed him to a disease and fucked up our herd immunity, I'd become an anti-vax serial killer.

If you look at records there have been people described as complete fools throughout history. Do you think autism and down syndrome is a new thing?

It is obviously going to happen more often, or seemingly more often, when there are more people in total in the populations in the world. Especially when people smoke or drink or do other drugs during their pregnancies, exposing their growing fetuses to the chemicals during their incubation period.

People are always going to follow some sort of trend or blame something because they are like this, "why me"?

The best thing to do is give them the information they need and allow them to make their own decisions. There will always be good and bad parents.

There was more of a chance of their child being born with autism & they still took that risk...the reward greatly outweighs the risk
