I know a guy whose name is Arian -- which (along with Arjan) is a unisex name but sounds slightly more like it'd be female than male.
When he was searching for a job, he realized halfway that it wouldn't be a bad idea to start including his picture. That way the recruiters would immediately notice that he's male when seeing his resume, instead of assuming he's female from his name. According to him, this worked. He started receiving way more calls and ended up landing a nice job.
In general though, I think this is a lost cause. My name leaves no room for doubt about my ethnicity or gender. In fact, I already don't include my picture and gender info on my resume, but that's simply because I think they add nothing of importance to the resume.
