I'm going to try to make a computer program to predict who will win a tennis match. Going to make mad cash.

The only problem I'm having is something called "Simpson's paradox". Because of tennis' win-by-two style, it can be possible for one player to win more points than another and still lose the match. Also, one game in tennis can have 4 points or 400 points, and a match can have 12 games or 39. Predicting the number of points won or number of games won may not really reflect who is going to win the match.

/e And if two players have never played each other before I would have no data to use.

How do you predict human reflex/state of mind/state of body at the given tennis match?
I assume you cannot bid when the game is going on, so how do you know beforehand?
Just from their previous record?

Precisely what will make this a massive challenge.
Good luck! Let us know how it turns out (:
