532 total def is full perf 1.09 on lvl 99.
164 total def on lvl 1 (including the 3,75 def per lvl).

Before 1.09 the item Stormshield was an Aegis Shield. When they changed the base type to Monarch, they forgot to change the base defense, so it would stay 161 (max base def).
When they corrected their mistake, our today's Stormshield came out with base def 148.
