Deathwhisper is by far the most populous server in the game. It remains full for 2 hours after the second most popular server goes back to medium population.

I know many others from D2jsp play there, too.

Impossible to say which server has the most "intense" gameplay or PVP is impossible to say, there aren't people at high levels yet, siege battles haven't even started. Way too early to expect a clear answer.
