im same age as him. nothin stopping me from playing...

except for the fact that its against the laws

there tos specifically states no one under the age of 18 should have access to play, by breaking this tos, you are breaking the law. =)
and for anyone who doesnt think this is breaking the law, talk to the chick with the myspace case. she posed as someone else on myspace or something and thats against the tos and it revolved around someone killing themself or dying, so they went after her. dont know the specifics but yeah.

that myspace case is totally different then this lol.
my mom bought it for me. if she says its ok for me to play then theres nothing wrong with that.
if there was something wrong with that then game stores shouldn't sell games to parents that say its ok and they buy it for them. thats why also on things such as xbox live or signing up for something where you need to be a certin age they say to give them your parents email so they can confirm (which i doubt not many people do it all but its the law like you said). but if parents say its ok to play its fine. my mom says its ok im fine im not doing anything wrong.

Sadly not as many under-aged kids ARE mature.
Hence the Mature rating. They dont want this game filled with litte 14 y/o kids talking about 'HAY LETS MAEK A DANSE LYN!!!!"
You dont see that shit in AoC, and I for one am relieved.

actually, the terms of service specifically say NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18. therefor, it doesnt matter who gives consent... its not allowed. you cant goto a bar and get a drink if your parents give you consent can you? its the same damn thing.

when you talk about people giving their kids consent, it is legal for parents to consent to buying movie tickets, mature rated games, music etc. BUT in this case, you are agreeing to the terms of service.

the myspace incident is similar. here is what it is.

Quote
The indictment says MySpace members agree to abide by terms of service that include, among other things, not promoting information they know to be false or misleading; not soliciting personal information from anyone under age 18; and not using information gathered from the web site to "harass, abuse, or harm other people."

Drew and others who were not named conspired to violate the service terms from about September 2006 to mid-October that year, according to the indictment. It alleges they registered as a MySpace member under a phony name and used the account to obtain information on the girl.

basically, they violated the myspace tos WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW. and since something serious happened, they are getting in trouble for it.

please dont post trying to act like you know what you're talking about... you're 15, you dont know anything yet kid

Okay this is IceLords brother... As a college student, a Criminology major and one who all around knows the law, I have to ask.... Does it say anywhere in the tos that those who violate are subject to prosecution? Because here is the thing... The agreement falls upon the stores selling the games. They are not allowed to sell Mature rated games to underage kids. Just like a bar cannot serve an underage kid. HOWEVER, your parents CAN give you consent to play such games. Our mom bought this game and is allowing my brother to play it, that is apart of her judgment and the game cannot sue my family UNLESS it states that those that violate are subject to prosecution.

Now, about your myspace comparison... you are a complete dumb ass. Do you know anything about that case... She didn't create an account for an underage person. She was indicted for "one count of conspiracy and three counts of accessing protected computers without authorization to get information used to inflict emotional distress on the girl." This case is completely irrelevant to your half-ass attempt at an argument. Learn to uses your sources for an argument, just like my brother has used in me. The girl that killed herself in this case was also underage. Did you notice that? Is her family being charged with anything? No. There is no law to breaking the terms of service, unless otherwise stated.

Now with your bar comparison. I laugh at you. Your parents CAN give consent to drink at a bar dumb ass, but they have to be with you. As a 20 year old I have drank with my mom at bars for the last 3 years.

so, buddy, please dont post trying to act like you know what you're talking about.... you may be 21, but you dont know everything yet kid

lmao man your parents can buy the game for you and you're not breaking any rules.
It's rated mature because of blood nudity w.e, that just means you need someone 17+ in order to get it because they dont want kids playing if their parents don't allow them to.
It doesnt say you HAVE to be 17 in order to play, wtf bullshit is that man.
It's like paintballing, you need someone over 18 in order to sign the form so that you can play, you don;t have to be 18 yourself.
Prove me wrong and find on the terms of service where it says YOU HAVE TO BE 17+ IN ORDER TO PLAY and ill kiss your feet.
Until then, shut the fuck up.
