Buying a computer to play a game without knowing the specs beforehand is not a good idea. And I dissagree with the above 2 posters, you can get good deals comparable to building computers now adas as long as you don't need a 9800gtx watercooled monster.
it might cost more then others. but its cheaper then buying comp and then upgrading it later.
lets say you buy a comp for 1000$ and you can build one better but have to spend maybe 300$ more. and you go with the 1000$ and later wanted to upgrade to the same specs as the one you built that might cost maybe 700$. (just throwing out numbers) as you can see you are spending more on the comp thats not built when you want to upgrade. because lets face it games are getting more and more hefty requirements so we (as an computer gamers) are going to have to lead away from factory built computers and make them ourselves to save money (if you want to). might not see it now but im sure you will start seeing it more in the future.
but there is also a chance you could a computer with the same specs as the one you want to build for cheaper. in that case by all means take that deal. it all depends on how much the factory built computer compares with the custom one. and then how much it will cost to upgrade the factory or if you will even have to.
