Hello all, i will be going to Bulgaria in the near future and i was wondering how strict are the laws there when it comes to auto rules and fines ?
As far as some people told me you can get ur drivers license suspended if you drive even 5km above the speed limit ???
is this true ?
in romania we have: 10-49km above the speed limit - fine
all thats above 50 km over the speed limit , as in 100km/h in the city is fine + permit suspended.

what are the exact rules in bulgaria ? its not that i plan to NFS over there ( cant really do that since ill be driving with a gps all the time) but its just scary knowing that they can take my license for even 5km above limit ( if this is true).

Yes it is so be carefull

Above 5-30 km/h of the speed limit you can get ticket. Above 31km/h of the speed limit you can lose your driving license for 3 months or more + ticket.
So, I recomend you to not drive over speed limit more than 20 km/h and not +10 km/h in the city!

i've been in Romania a few times and i gotta say you guys drive like crazy compared to us
so you should be carefull and always have a 10 or 20 leva bill in your pocket to feed the pigs

The cameras shoot you when you drive 25+ km over the speed limit.
Most of the road patrols will let you go if you give them some cash even if you drive 40-50 km faster, but keep safe. You can always get yourself into trouble with our cops.
