do i need 2 buy gear to do catacombs

Loll mang ur on HC. It's 10x more dead than SC. And SC is dead atm. Catacombs is a group of player leveling together yo. I guess it will be done until tomorrow for you.
And as for buying gear, it depends on what you have atm.

personally i used a fighter as my feeder class...


low levels (1-30) just grab the highest EE plate you can afford for your level and the highest EE weapon you can afford for your level (clubs are cheaper, swords are overpriced) and a charm with as much dex as you can afford

40-71 just grab the highest str plate off market you can afford, EE weapon, dex charm


invest all stats into dex until you hit 100 dex with your charm on and then all the rest of the points into str



i have gear setups for levels 0, 10, 20, 30, and 40... none of my gear costs more than 20 fg except my level 40 weapon and i can solo 1-50 and i just cata 50-71

Yeah that's a good explanation. And a Fighter is the best IMO for HC, when you start.
