Oh, then I misunderstood - I thought you had to switch over everything at like level 40 on a hybrid. But I'm only adding a heal charm, that's it? I think I can handle that - should be pretty tolerable. What does one look for in a heal charm?
(Thanks CCorso - all int sounds like a good plan. I won't be doing it on this climb, but for sure on the next - I'm sure I'll fail again so I'll have the opportunity, lol.)
there are 2 types of hybrids that people talk about.
The first is a caster character that goes with all stats into int, and will cast like a mage for the latter part of the climb. On rouges and paladins etc, people usually make use of the awesome stats early on to use melee to best effect while casting is still weak (even on a mage, casting for the first few levels sucks). these hybrids usually melee from 1 to about 30, then switch completely over to casting for the remainder of their climb.
The second type, which is the latest fad on LS, is making a character that has ~60-80 int (from what i've seen), then the rest is focused on being a standard melee character. The higher than usual int means that caster mobs do greatly less damage (its these that are the reason melee characters have issues getting high chains at high levels), and they use a heal charm as well so they can heal themselves during an easy fight to make them last far longer. These guys are freakin expensive though, because you need a high ee heal, preferably int from you gear, but at the same time you need big stats from your gear to be a decent melee character.
