Actually I saw Star Trek today ^^

Very good movie.  Craig recommends.

See, I heard that the greater portion of Trekkies hated the
movie, while those who hated Star Trek to begin with actually liked it.

Well, basically, it was supposed to relate to all audiences. It had more attractive younger people, witty comments, ironic scenes which created laughter.

Also, they basically made it so they can change every single other star trek show, because they had a guy who changed the past, and it was crazy.

Definitely set themselves up for more Star Trek movies.

If they take it in a good direction, that's cool, but if they're planning on being
completely ridiculous, like the guys for Terminator, then they should be shot.

The guys who are doing Terminator, the new one, should never have even
completed the filming, let alone take it to theaters, without Arnold. Arnold made
the first several movies a complete success, and to continue on without him is
sacrilege. They should have left the series where it was. Unfortunately, the
hunger for more money is pretty powerful, which, I'm sure, is why they continued.

I'm sure Christian Bale is a good actor, but the movie, in my opinion, is going to
be shit. The first time I hear of someone other than Arnold walking in saying
"I'll be back," I'm going to flip shit. I'm talking BIG time.

Any one else have an opiion on this?

But some of the original actors in Star Trek are dead. They took it in a good direction, in my opinion.

I don't know many trekkies who disliked it. My Dad loved it, so did my teachers (I got some weird sci - fi convention teachers)

My brother and my friends and I all loved it.

This is true that most of the original cast are dead. I'm just hoping that they
don't change things too much. You look at the Rambo and Rocky movies, and you see
what I'm talking about. They kept Stallone to come in and finish out the series.
I know they can't do that with Star Trek, but if they go too far, and do things that
conflict with the original TV series, then it's stupid. As long as they keep to
the basis of what Star Trek was, then it's a good thing. They can add better
special effects, with the new technology, and maybe even transform it into something
better than it was. The only question now, is, will they know when to stop?
Sometimes, you need to stop. There was series back in the 80's that knew. It was supposed
to be just an 8 episode mini-series, but they kept it going longer, and then cut it
off just at the right time. Hopefully these folks don't let their wallets get the best of them.

They've just made it more appealing to younger audiences, and made room to make more.

I'm pretty sure that the last season of star trek they made didn't even finish airing cuz of crappyness. They let it go to long back then.

I liked the movie the only problem is that they are gonna try to franchize hte hell out of it and make millions of movies toys tv series etc. etc. blah blah

gonna kill it.

That wouldn't surprise me one bit. Everything seems to be about money nowadays.
