Well since you have 18k I'll tell you what I would do with that

Buy a dagger set and an axe set then get stat robes and charms. Then upgrade your casting gear with some nice staffs and int padded robes.
After that, you'll literally be set for every class oh and maybe you'll want some nice stat medium armour for melee classes

I would say hybrid is the way to go, but it is generally really really expensive. However, it pays off being able to get full chains at level 55+
