We have been down that route and for some reason he can't do that either, some "wrong downloader" error or something.

They do sell external USB cd-rom drives, you can even get a DVD one for under a hundred bucks. Check newegg.com or tigerdirect.com, those are the two sites I use when I build PC's and they have the best prices I have seen.

have to have my disk to open it

that magicdisk crap takes too long to dl the disk right on my cpu

since 1.12 I believe you dont need the CD anymore in the drive. just have to copy a few of the MPQ files over to your D2 directory and it will no longer call for the CD.

you can dl the cds off a p2p and instal it that way using daimon tools
