It's just my sense of humor, Jamie. And I'm probably feeling a bit more venom than usual after some jerk scoffed at my 115 bin price for a mute.
Anyway, I just finished listening to your tune. I was a music critic (for a living) for a long, long time, but I'll keep the kid gloves on for this review:
1) Whoever the chick singing is, it sounds like a really, really awful impression of Amy Lee. She sorta made me feel like climbing up to the top of building and sending a hail of bullets down on random people.
2) Other than that, not terrible. You've got one problem though, if you're doing this for more than fun and hope to enjoy a career out of this someday (other than the one-and-a million shot of being discovered). You're white, and you look like you're from Georgia. It doesn't play well with the target audience. Unless you grew up in an inner-city, you're destined for an unflattering fall from grace a la Robbie Van Winkle. If you've got a little city in ya, here's my advice:
a.) don't suck. This part is important.
b.) don't skimp on the cd production. I've got a bunch I still use as coasters. Some of them sounded like they were half-decent bands, but no one listens to shitty production.
c.) Get famous locally. Play in any bar that will have you and get a following. Also, send cds to every local college DJ you can find. They're more apt to play it.
d.) get a lawyer to send discs to labels once you've done all the other 3 things. They can get people higher up the chain to give the disc more than 30 seconds.
