i use staffs that kewbie borowed me (the list is in our intrasiege forum), for low levels i use my dagers, and i use 48 dex clean charm and 36 dex robe (from 0 lvl ), i also have lots problems,i slash very slow, it takes 1,5 hour to reach 1 lvl...
atm i am not slashing i am at work, but in the evening i will slash a lot...
