Nothing else to do than to reclimb

were you at around half life and clicked summon monster but nothing happened?
If that's the case even if you click summon monster....and no monster spawns,
if the game is lagging you will still be fighting a monster even if you go back to town.
best thing to do is have another LS window open with your login information
and log into that window immediately. Or, you cloud close the window ASAP
so the fight will last only 10 rounds before DC. In any case, climbing again is the next step

The only thing I remember is, that when I came back the chat window said the following:

Disconnected from server.
You have died.
Disconnected from server.

So from that, I'm pretty sure that I tried to summon a monster, but it didn't spawn. Then I probably went to town and left the computer, so I was disconnected because of the lag and got killed while not being logged on or something. That's probably the most likely to happen, like you said, but I don't remember how much life I was at

if you do summon a monster and it doesn't spwan when it should best bet is to close the window that way it will DC you after 10 rounds.
