A good setup for a barb is to (I believe) add your first 5-10 to VIT for tanking (since you cant buy expensive gear) and then stat the rest of your points when you gain levels to STR. This will help raise your damage over time, the only downside is with the lack of DEX as a melee, you will not crit hit very much. This works best with axes due to their more constant damage.

As far as the 2nd part, my only advice is PRACTICE. Don't use rods, just use the loaner, and only try level 1 fish. You will get the hang of it, basically when you see SNAG you need to hit the snag button once, then keep fishing. Cooking is hard for me too so I dont have any real advice there

The more you practice, the easier it will become for you, that I can say for certain.

Actually... If I wanted to... once I got to Ninja... I could gain ONE FULL rank in sword before I even do ONE MQ and this is without re-rolling



You will not be able to kill fast with nothing.
You will have to work hard on your build and re-roll (if you want to gain little fg and upgrades)
Ohh... I prefer guild... clan seems like rebel radicals going out to pound on the flesh of others. (just me... )

Tips...
Go Arena...
Upgrade as you go
Pickup TierI's / II's with the #5+ on the left and check to see if they have +5 - +10 to stats... then sell for 1fg on MP
... when you have your 10 quota... go and post them up in Trade section: ... "Glyphables on MP @ 1fg"...
... if they do not sell until next day... then glyph what you can next... (ohhh... during your regen time... glyph TierI's)
Re-roll your character when it takes too long to kill... if you are not a re-roller... then do catas... and hope people will keep you in
... group and let you pick up some items to keep you upgrading.
Test your build each time doing wells at certain levels... this will show you what you need to survive better.

Get guildies together at your level to help you in cata.

Barb building:
1... Start: 5 points vita / 5 dex (rest dex)
2... Climbing: Add points into Dexterity... until you reach 90 (rest str)
3... Use filler weapons that you find if they are better... example... using sword... but axe of same level has more ee... then use axe

I did, I did. My reasoning is since axes hit more average than say swords, its not as beneficial to add DEX simply to try to produce high crits. (especially if you cant afford stat gear and nice weaponry)

However, it IS beneficial to add DEX to increase your defense vs melee mobs. Should have added that in. I hope someone can make more sense of this, my brain is screwy today... work laptop got a virus and ive been trying to hack the planet for the last 2 hours.

dex has the same effect on axes as swords. dex doesn't make your crits hit the higher end of the weapon - it jsut makes them increase by a higher % and make them more likely to happen.

With a sword yes, you may hit 2k where an axe only crits for 800, but remember the sword is just as likely to hit for the lowest possible roll as the highest. it'll average out as being exactly the same.

Axe vs Sword:
It is all dependent on the user...

Myself personally... I prefer sword due to the fact that I can reach Mass higher crit damage.
... I would only use axe during a known hard period of time (or unless I get HH)... the consistency of the damage is better.
