Been trying to write up a new guide for LS v1.33.1+. following isn't complete and the Table at the end is what I will add to it later on. What are your thoughts all?






This information is based on my own thoughts on how to play Ladder Slasher v1.33.1 +. Remember this, I am unorthodox. People will post their thoughts.


Going to start out with the "TL;DR" explanation first, however below is the long version with some more information:

#1: Create a Barbarian (make mules for holding gear as well... maximum of 8 characters per core).
#2: All stat points into Vitality up to 100 Base, then rest into Strength.
#3. Weapons to use with Strength are: Club, Sword, Axe and Battle-axe. You want Enhanced Effect on these Weapons.
#4. Armor to use at the start would have +Strength primary (if not, in early levels some +max life [upto level 10]) and Enhanced Effect secondary, higher levels, you may want to prioritize Enhanced Effect over Strength.
#5. Main Charm slot. + Strength.
#6. ACC Charm slot. This is optional... Enhanced Effect only applies, so use Heal Charms still not necessary.

Game play is based on what you want to achieve (goal). At level 1, fully explore the catacomb to get your first objective to gain an extra +1 or 2 Equipment slots (Trap door, re make catacomb). I suggest continuing full explore catacombs hunting Maps (they drop on the last square,instantly click on them and read modifiers afterwards, otherwise they will disappear.). When it taking too long to clear catacombs, you can "Whistle" (hotkey T or use the whistle symbol top left of catacomb). This is the basic way to getting to Master Quest by leveling up to 71 on your Barbarian.

Map maze clearing is different to Catacomb maze clearing:
#1: Whistle doesn't work, no new monsters will spawn when back tracking.


#2: You will not find a Well unless it is a modifier on the map used "+X Well"
#3. You will not find a random Trap Door, HOWEVER, an Emblem could be a Trap Door and you will automatically fall into it losing the map modifiers, avoid clicking Emblems until clearing the map.
#4. The last square will be a Treasure Chest, this overrides the map modifiers like, +X Well if you haven't found one, same goes with Evil Presence, etc.
#5. All map dimensions (size) is related to the Tier (level of the map), A Tier I map (Patched) dimension is 5x5, Tier II map (Rawhide) dimension is 7x6 (equivalent to starting a Catacomb at level 5), Tier III map dimension is 10x7 (equivalent to level 15 character starting a Catacomb) ... etc Note: needs more research for higher Tier Maps above Rigid (level 20 map).
#6. Maps have a Monster Level Cap, example a Tier I map monster level cap is level 15, higher level character diminish Drop Rate & Quality. All map Monster Caps increase by 25;
... Tier I = cap 15
... Tier II = cap 20
... Tier III = 25
... Tier IV (Level 5 requirement) you add 25 which equals level 30 monster cap
... Tier V (Level 10 requirement) + 25 = level 35 Monster cap
... etc.
... ... Taking into account that Maps have a Set Dimension (size), you can explore them successfully before your character level exceeds the Monster level cap
... ... NOTE: The Map modifier like +17 Level Cap increases the Monster Level cap of that map, so a Tier I Map with +17 Level Cap increases the Cap from 15 to 32.

Master Quest: If you unlock the doors, you unlock the next character class, however there is a change +2 Levels to reach Master Quest again:

Feeder (your barbarian) = level 71 to MQ
Samurai (unlocked) = level 73 to MQ Note: can only use Sword, dagger & Longsword basically
Paladin (unlocked) = level 75 to MQ Note: can use Club, sword, axe / Battleaxe basically
ETC. Note: Next three(3) unlocked characters can NOT use Leather / Scale / Chain or plate armors, and Warlock is a caster, so Int items.
... So you may want to collect / hunt or buy items for these characters to use.

Rinse and repeat while updating your gear.

Long Version Starting out:

Create 8 characters - All Barbarian Class
Name the first two(2) characters. The rest will be your mules to hold gear.
Use the Marketplace using the Transfer tab to send gear you want to keep for free.

Your character will have a Club (Tier I) already, you also start off with +10 Stat points, put them into Vitality (& each point to level 6 = 75 base Vitality), press Enter to open up chat and type: /set easy 0 ... press enter and this will deactivate safe mode. Enter Catacomb and explore the maze by using arrow keys or WASD keys, and kill off monsters... note, put on anything that drops that are useful.

Items of use that can be worn by Barbarian: All Armor and Charm Types. Club, Sword, Axe, Battle-axe (+strength on armor and charms will help increase the damage of these weapons.) Personally Scale, Chain & Plate armor types I prefer when starting fresh, so you want +Strength on these... in addition would be Enhanced Effect, the other option is +max life during the starting 10 levels.

Note: Only the Enhanced Effect modifier of Charms in the ACC slot are accounted for, all other mods don't work.

Modifiers on items that are of importance:

... Enhanced Effect (EE) = increases the potential of that item type: Weapon (dmg), Armor (defense), Elemental Charms (dmg) & Healing Charms (Healing Capacity)

... Stats like;
... ... Strength = Increases damage of weapons, importantly beneficial based on the weapon type Ratio (72 str / 25 dex) of Sword.
... ... Dexterity = Increases damage of weapons, importantly beneficial based on the weapon type Ratio (10 str / 90 dex) of Dagger
... ... Vitality = Increase Physical defense and for each 25 stats = +1 Life Regen (so 75 Vitality = +3 Life Regen) - No addition to Life Pool
... ... Intelligence = Increase Physical defense & Casting Effect of charms (damage & healing), also, for each 25 stats = +1 mana Regen (so 75 Intelligence = +3 Life Regen) - No addition to Life Pool
... ... Base stats (hard points) increase your Life &/or Mana Pool

... +X Extra Equipment Slots (EES): These are for your Mules, Tier III has a maximum of +3 EES, you get +1 Addition per Tier (level) of an item, so a Tier IV (level 5 item) can have maximum of +4 EES.

... +X Maximum Life / Mana: These come in handy at beginning levels if you don't have +% Enhanced Effect or + Stat on your items. Also, +X Maximum Mana is great on items with +X Intelligence, even higher levels items.

... +X% Quick Draw (QD), even though this is not commonly sort after, it increases Melee Action rates (attack speed) ... 1 sec delay action is applied for 99% playing Ladder Slasher, this also includes Skills like fishing (note: QD only works with melee actions). Only Heavy Weapons have a 1.8 second delay action, so slower attack speed vs other weapons. QD is great when using Heavy Weapons.

... +X Critical Strike (CS), this increases your chance to deal double damage (appears in Red when you hit a monster). You can deal CS without this modifier normally. It works with Melee & Elemental charm attacks. IMPORTANT NOTE. You are better off with more Stat points for Damage Per Second (DPS) compared to having this modifier. example would be: +5 CS has a 5% chance to deal double damage (5/100 actions), where as +5 Stat increases your damage per successful hit check 100% of the time (100/100 actions)

A dumb ass thought.

Do you think I can make some forum gold posting a (For Trade) thread with these regulations:

All Hardcore Prof Rankings in the top 50 of all of my Hardcore characters are up for sale for me to DELETE all of those characters.
In addition, any and all equipment held by those characters of value will also be DELETED (unless purchased before hand).

I also had the inclination of everything in my vault, well after distributing the better set items to guild members or sale of them.

Not sure how much FG deleting the Top 10 Ranks in Longsword would be, not including other Heavy Weapon Rankings. oh... I would still have 1 character @ #1 spot for Longsword after deleting 10 characters. However, all other Heavy Weapon rankings other than Warhammer would change ... in the top 10... only my Bufcore character would have a high standing in one or more of those heavy weapon ranking.s

Not sure the fg price is for contributing time and effort is, this is not including gear collected.

Note: I would not quit, I would just start over and end up in the same rankings if not higher. :P

I don't know how that would work, although I know you'd have to word it different or else a mod would just close the topic, advertising a character for sale is what would cause that. You'd need to post it as an auction and winner wins the prize of causing you to delete x character etc.

It probably would just turn into the usual flame / spam war and then get locked any way you try to do it :lol:

A "Dare" is not trade, sorry. :rofl:

Anyway, this Event has been great, I explored this Catacomb from like level 30-32 to level 40... did not find a Well, did not have a Spin, came across like 2 Emblems, and one of them was the objective Treasure Pest (great) ... no +Rooms, in reality, jack shit including drops and EP spawns.

Well I would have to back track to clear the catacomb for the Map drop... will it be worth it... oh I will back track using /set easy 1 to increase speed to get there. Anyway this is the Prntscrn using Lighthouse/Lightshot or whatever it is called:

So now to backtrack using /set easy 1 just for the last unexplored tile.


EDIT: This is the Map that dropped... best attribute is that it is a level 50 Map.

"Don't Read What is Written Here v1.33.1"

Basic Information for the Sheep starting out Ladderslasher v1.33.1

#1: Start with a Barbarian Character.
#2: Enhanced Effect Weapon for Barb = Club, Sword, Axe and Battleaxe (Based on Stat ratio explained later)
#3. Armor & Main Charm requires + Strength mod (Higher the better) for DPS or Enhanced Effect for Armor Tanking. (better at higher levels).
#4: ACC charm slot only works with the Enhanced Effect mod, other mods are ignored. So, EE Heal or EE elemental cast charms work.
#5: Abilities to choose: Retribution (Barb, charges on "Hit") and Powerstrike (Fighter charges on "Attack"). Any "0" hits taken or attacks do NOT help you charge up abilities. Note: these two abilities deal the highest damage when charged up @ 50+%.

The principal game is based around getting to Master Quest. If you unlock the next class, the character level increases by two(2) levels to Master Quest.
... Barb = 71 Master Quest Tower appears. If you pass, you unlock the Samurai.
... Samurai = 73 Master Quest Tower to appear, if you pass, you unlock Paladin.
... Paladin = 75 Master Quest Tower to appear, if you pass, you unlock Monk
... Monk = 77 Master Quest Tower to appear, etc, etc, etc
... Goal is to reset, by passing the master as an Alchemist which is level 85 for the Tower to appear.

Now each class has restriction of weapons, armor and charms they can use during their climb, the class that has the most restrictions is a Guardian: Club & Every Heavy Weapons Only... Only Heavy Armor can be used (Chain / Plate Mail) and Only Heal type charms. Headhunter is a close second (2nd).

Selling items for profit. Check out the Marketplace when you are online and what people are selling items equivalent to what you have found, beware, some items are overpriced because they don't want those items sold. Also, check the Trade section of the core you are playing to sell off junk items (skill items people want to purchase) and White items (that have no mods, but if dropped into a Well, and you kill off the monster spawned, the item will have modifiers for either upgrading or selling.) Also, side drops could be beneficial.

The above information is Simple for readers to research based on their goals or play style to playing. The following information is unorthodox and no one would even contemplate playing this way.

Create 8 characters for the core you want to play. Soft or Hard. (maximum 8 per core)
The first two(2) characters will be your main characters you will play.
The other 6 are mules, however, they can also be played once you get into a rhythm playing Ladder Slasher.
Your two(2) main characters, one will be a Guardian and the other one a Barbarian. (Different to the Norm posted above)

Both main characters will have set rules applied to Stat Placement.
... Barbarian Stat placement: First 10 points into Intelligence, next goal to reach is 100 base Vitality stat points, next is to reach 30 base Intelligence and the rest of the points are added to Strength.
... Guardian Stat placement: First 10 points into Vitality and to reach 100 Base Vitality as you level up, then rest into Strength.
Both main characters will ONLY have two(2) abilities as a Barbarian and a Guardian: Retribution + Salvation

Rex, my advise is, don't do it... this will eventually become a flame/ spam war thread as mentioned by Jesse.

I don't mind controversy . :P

It was a spur of the moment idea, doubt I would do it because it looks great having Kirby guild in most of the Heavy Weapon rankings compared to others. :D
