I will add to Chip's comments.
Chip and I, perhaps other members, have been burnt on a couple of occassions by new LS members. We have donated forum gold for gear or vault rental, purchased guild transfers, and made gear donations. Shortly afterwards, the new member either left or became inactive.
We do expect some minimal LS experience and a join date longer than my "you know what". LS is a challenging game. It takes forum gold or incredible luck to get basic gear to make a contribution in the catacombs. Most people will kick you if you are dealing below par damage.
We see people begin their LS careers to either fund their gambling habit or raise funds for their D2 gaming. In either case, the odds of getting fg rich playing LS is slim to none. LS is a game a kindred spirits working towards that magical level of 71 and the next secret character.
LS isnt for everyone. If a player, new or old, inquires about membership to AB, we want to see a few toons. Some indication you can get to MQ or have attempted a master quest or two. We also want to see some sort of post count. Anyone can join D2jsp and play LS. How is your community reputation? Are you a peckerwood in disguise? Are you a multi? These things can not be determined with a join date of September and three posts.
We are elite. I take exception to us being an up and coming LS guild. We are the real deal. We are like the Navy Seals. We are an elite unit of dedicated slashers. Our numbers are small but the results are huge. Soon and very soon, we shall grace page one of the guild list. We have acheived something very remarkable in a short period of time, considering our low numbers. We are about quality and not quantity.
We expect our slashers to attempt at least one MQ within a week of being accepted. There are rare circumstances when this may not be possible and we recognize this.
There are LS guilds that will take any and all. Our charter indicates we want to take slashers and make them better. We just need something to work with.
