I'd start with a Barbarian or a Fighter. You're going to want to look for Enhanced effect on weapons/armor, and strength or dexterity on your charms.
I'd get a tier III, IV, V, VII, IX, XI, XIII (or XIV) weapons. That will be your set of weapons.
Update your armor every 15 - 25 levels.
Start with a strength or dexterity armor at tier III, then an Enhanced effect at 15/35/55.
For charm, get a tier III 15 strength/dexterity a tier VI 20/25 str/dex and then a mq with ~30-40 str/dex.
If you use swords, focus on dexterity, if you use anything else focus on strength.
If you use swords aim for 110-120 total dexterity and put the rest into strength.
If you use anything else aim for ~80-90 dexterity and put the rest into strength.
On my samurai I only had 75 dexterity.
