Did the dmg ratios change the efficiency of weapon types? And cost?

Kinda lame they took away arena and made 1 player drops worse

Much better drops in team, if you solo you will find nothing.
You can well in catas, if you find there a "dark pool".
You can leave cata games and go back without loosing your position / map.

and much more...
For example.. weapon's str / dex ratio = ]

Lvl5 -> ready for maze Q, guild - only cata open.
