I don't judge Jay at all. But that does not mean it does not upset me to see how he has chosen to handle it.

glad to smile.gif.

LS is set up the way it is for a reason. Anyone and everyone who loses an item in the course of xfering has no one to blame but themselves. And the lame topics that get posted do not make the item buyer look bad, but makes the item seller look bad. I am sure you remember I once loaned an item out, and never got it back. I did make a topic. Not flaming or anything like that. I clearly stated the history of the item, and let everyone do what they will with it. But the public attempt at making people look bad is not only pathetic and lame, but worthless. Which is why those posts always get closed as soon as someone sees it.

The question of ethics does not come into play as the game is designed to offer protection as long as one is not trying to be cheap and avoid the tax.

I agree in the sense that the deformation of character (or attempted DoC) was unnecessary and unwarranted, but it is common to see people act in accordance with their inability to think and act rationally when upset or bothered.

In this tongue-in-asshole world of Ladder Slasher where the Market Place is used to "balance" the game, and the Trade Hall is used merely to cause inflation, I don't care for the bullshit scenario where ANYONE can buy ANYTHING "fair and square." How many times since this game was made public have two people agreed to a trade in the Trade Hall, only for the item to end up in the hands of someone else when it is taken to the Market Place? Where is the justification of that in the Rulebook? What is Paul's stance on that? I don't think he's ever come forth and explained his feelings on that frequently-occuring issue.

If he has noticed it, then there would be the decisive feeling (I assume) that one of the two is not needed. Since the MP is already integrated into the game, I think it would be easier to remove the Trade Hall. I'll stay tuned to see if it ever gets removed. (Ha rolleyes.gif)

Jay was in the former Desolate Carnage. Say what you want about the board conduct of past and current members, but as someone who played Ladder Slasher while being in DC, I expected him to see the importance and significace of simply giving the item back to who it belonged to. The Ladder Slasher team of Desolate Carnage was built on teamwork and cooperation. I guess you could say I would expect any "Good Guy," past or present, to give it back. This isn't meant to pressure him or anyone, or to demand they act in line with my thought process. It is just to say I am surprised...and disappointed.

Oh yes, the omnipresent association of Desolate Carnage whose members felt it was necessary to delete the guild so that it could rid itself of a faux-reputation. Apparently your association still exists, but the properties that made it recognizable in Ladder Slasher seem to be long gone.

I'm sorry, I can only say that I am surprised and disappointed. Nothing more will be gained from continuing to discuss this. I just thought this was a proper place. The "Good Guy" thread. smile.gif

We can now resume regularly scheduled Good Guy spam. Good luck on the upcoming attempt Ryan. I think I can be awake for this one. banana.gif

would LS be better served by returning every item to the seller who was trying to save on a tax, thus perpetuating this false sense of security and an overall sense that the well known players should get the item back, while the less informed players or less known players would either not know to ask for the item, or not be taken serious; or for these items to stay with their rightful buyers, thus making their sellers less apt to try to save 50 fg by avoiding security?

Level 35, almost 36

As bad as this sounds, Ryan's level 25, and I think he'll mq again before I do tongue.gif.

I don't think you can fix Ladder Slasher with one knee-jerk solution, especially not this aspect of it. We will never be able to hold every single person to an ideal or standard.
