I've tested this on 80+ climbs and cross-referenced with some other solid sword users since season 9 using the highest ee possible sword each 5 levels. At the current time, i find 120dex to be better in both arena and catas. with 115 dex which Ive used for a long while, you're supposed to get a higher average but I find this to not be the case because your crits over time actualy raise your average by a good amount too.
Use 120 Dex or close to it 118-119 dex rest into strength.
The crits will actually raise your average in catas and help you in arena as well, and if your stuck at a lvl or so that 120 dex will make it easier for you to solo in arena. not by a ton but a significant amount.
Ex: with 115 Dex, I get about 60% till lvl pure melee at lvl 58sh. However with the 120 dex, the crits allow me to pull of 70-80% till lvl easy and usually around 88%.
This is because the higher lvl monsters hit quite hard and those crits which come about quite often at 120 dex, allow me to lose less damage and kill faster.
so killing speed is key here. plus the 5 dex towards taking a bit less damage isn't bad either
Regarding this as well, I don't use that many stat items because upgrades have been difficult to find.. while pulling off those chains. My armor has 45 stats and my charm has 48 and 6 critical strike.
at 55 + you can easily get 60+ on your armor and 55ish on your charm so im missing about 22 stats if not much more. In addition, since i only play feeder to monk, i haven't used my main character who has lvl 12 sword proficiency
but rather my weaker ones with lvl 3 or 4 so theres potential to be even better than the above. Yep so thats the setup for the stats i cited above.
gonna copy and paste what i wrote. so a pure dex build doesn't really work anymore and youhave to balance now so 120dex rest into str.
on your way there keep str higher than dex pref 20 more str more or less
