it is not dynamic -- and crank is also above the lvl reported -- the current discrepancies will be gone in tomorrows report, and new ones created

Do you have to check and record what level everyone's characters are at every day?

each char is manually updated -- it can take me up to 45 minutes to get it all done, barring other stuff that has to be done

does dying lower proficiency?
I was about to level my ice proficiency and then switched tabs mid-fight and forgot.
I died, and now its at like 3/4
im pissed!!! lol.
