Looks like I will have to investigate the "Damage Calculator" in correspondence with the OLD mechanics of the game where "Dexterity" had a hidden "Critical Hit Chance" percentage (%).

For old players before the introduction of "Ratios", dexterity was more prevalent because of more chance(s) to deal double damage (Critical Hit Chance), and this was NOT including "Critical Strike" mods.

Here is a breakdown of the game mechanics in the assumption of "Magic Luck" and the Event mod of "+X% Magic Luck"

Let us say you have +10 Magic Luck (on items) and you have a 1% chance that it effects items that drop... now, if an "Event has 50% magic luck EFFECTIVENESS", that 1% chance increases to 1.5% chance that it effects items that drop.

Thus, use the "Critical Strike" modification adding a % chance to your "Critical Hit Chance" ... Ratios increase your "ChC" and "CS" increases the % chance.

Okay... why have I thought about this reasoning? Well, after testing the "Damage Calculator", Bigheaded responded with the following;

... Okay, I can sorta understand that, but alarm bells tell me that when you check out the "Ratios" of 75/25 and 25/75 ... why (WHY) does "Dexterity" have "LESS"... even if it has to do with "rounding down".

75/25 Ratio using Strength with Sword (0 Dex)
25/75 Ratio using Dexterity with Staff (0 Str)

Why is there a 0.5 Avg / DPS difference when the same BASE tier (level) of the weapon(s) are the same BASE average damage?

It is fishy, maybe even coding even though the "Damage Calculator" works as intended as in game.

It's nothing to do with strength/dexterity, it's to do with swords having a higher max damage, 10-100 compared to 30-80 in this case.

67 damage instances gives a multiplier of 1.62. Can see damage instances along the top of the sheet.

Multiply 1.62 by 10 then remove anything after the decimal for swords min damage = 16.
Multiply 1.62 by 100 then remove anything after the decimal for swords max damage = 162
Now lets do the same for the staff:
Multiply 1.62 by 30 then remove anything after the decimal for staffs min damage: 48
Multiply 1.62 by 80 then remove anything after the decimal for staffs max damage = 129

16 + 162 = 178
48 + 129 = 177

If you paid me 100 fg i'll show you those specific values in screenshots in character links. So you will be able to see it is the game and how it calculates damage, not an issue with my sheet.
In short i'd have a mage with 20 strength and 66 dex to hold the staff and a guardian with 66 strength and 20 dex to hold the sword.

I can promise you the damage values will be exactly as stated.

In really short, it's to do with rounding down the base damage of weapons after they have been multiplied by a decimal.
There will ALWAYS be a multiplication unless you're using 0 strength and dex, which is what the history link damage is.

just a case of spending time answering rex's questions and i personally don't get anything from it, as i could be using that time doing crit checks or writing other stuff i intend to write such as fighter guide for ques.
at least in that axe/sword debate everyone else answered him ^^
