That error typically is caused by bad/corrupt drivers. Did u install any new hardware or software recently? I can help you fix it but will need some more info.

What operating system?

Can you get into device manager and see any problem devices/hardware?

Got 71, now just need to find a guild

Did you actually remember how to use Skype?

Hope you fix it soon, I won't be able to actually take over and do it like I did for you a couple of years ago, but I may be able to help you through it if you have more details?

Vista Home... approximately 2006-2007

No hardware installed unless a 16gb mem stick is classed as hardware.
Installed Prism??? [It was a convertor... converts MP4's / MKR's etc... was converting them into AVI's to help neighbour watch movies on USB with his DVD player]
Uninstalled the Prism btw.

Also did a "System Restore" back to the 14th [last windows update] August.

Have access to "Device Manager" ... just not certain where the most likely place to find out about corrupt drivers.

ECP Printer Port (LPT1) [cannot access in safe mode]
Processors [BOTH] [cannot access in safe mode]
Sound [cannot access in safe mode]
System devices:

... High precision event timer [cannot access in safe mode]
... Intel(R) 82801G (ICH7 Family) SMBus Controller - 27DA [cannot access in safe mode]
... Numeric Data Processor [cannot access in safe mode]
... Programmable Interrupt Controller [cannot access in safe mode]
... System Speaker / Timer [cannot access in safe mode]

Basically everything else is working properly... and since I can not access others, I am sure it will be one of those...

Not sure if you can take a picture of the blue screen of death, but it should give more info about where the error is occurring.

Sent you a PM to discuss it... just got to like level 40 on LS... going to restart PC and pray for the worst.

Woot... did not fix anything, so I may as well slog it out on LS for some more levels.

My answer to everything is to do a system recovery to a early date when things ran smoother.

Can't use skype in safe mode... but ty for the idea.



Done this as far back as I could, which was 14th August... hate windows not giving more options, and stupid me never backed up the comp settings for the last 6 years.
