Thing is... they are only beta testing on Classic... which means they have a team playing Xpac privately
I did not see any loading for the new patch on Xpac... which is annoying at the least.

Anyway... I want it to come out when I am on Holidy (xmas) so that I can have time to game.

er no, the test realm is expansion. i dunno why it says 'classic beta' because it's certainly expansion.

There are no "dowloads" for this on Xpac... I checked... this means that there is NO beta testing in Xpac.

Think about it... if you do not get any NEW dl for the game.... there is nothing there... UNLESS it is based on a certain realm.

dude i was playing it earlier.

you log onto d2 and when you select the 'beta test realm' or whatever it is, you get a patch download like usual, then play just like you would any other time.

Ok, since I played diablo for like oh 3 hours last night (I know... I KNOW... I said never again...) I figured I would squash some rumors about the new test realm.

When you log onto Battle.net, choose realm Classic Beta. (it is NOT classic, it IS expansion.) You will then be given the download screen within D2.

Create a character. Since this is a BETA TEST REALM... there are some commands you can do. Simply type them as a message in game.

Waypoints X (where X is the current act you are in) gives all waypoints for X act.
Level XX (XX is desired level, 99 is obvious choice) do i need to explain?
Gold XX (xx is desired gold, for a level 99 this is 990,000) again, no need for explanation

What I did: played with Levi for a while, got up to a5 Hell (this game is VERY HARD WITHOUT GG GEAR!!!!!!) as a pure Fire sorc since they got buffed in this version.

He made a necro. This team worked fine until Hell, fire immunes made us rely on Levi and it got slow...

Tips: You can now RESPEC! Do the den quest, talk to akara after, and she gives you the option to RESET YOUR SKILL AND STAT POINTS. You can do this once per difficulty.

Oh, the new "world event" they are talking about? New organ piece items? Just another way of Respec'ing... was disappointed to find no new uber area or secret level...

My take on 1.13:

Paladin hammers got hit with a nerf (FINALLY) not game ending but still it should break the baal botters. (one of baals waves are now hammer immune I believe)
Fire sorcs got buffed, should see a return of Hydra sorcs as well as meteor-baller (what i built)
Light sorcs got nerfed by 15% roughly... sad to see but happy in a way, they were too cookie-cutter
No more glitched uber experience. Glad this happened even though I abused it. Now people will have to go back to chaos/baal runs (more fun for me)

No new items, no new runewords, no new secret areas, no major overhauls. Basically they fixed duping and slowed down botting, and allowed the respec of your character in case you stat/skill it wrong... so not really a whole new game to me.

On a lighter note, I was top ten on the ladder for a while

edit: 10-24 with one group (x3 monks, a ninja and a sammy). not bad going. i thought my daggers were sexy but i was averaging 130 while the others were at 240 O_o
